Lots of brands are busy sending emails, but activity doesn’t equal strategy. If your results are flopping, there’s a good chance you’re falling into this all-too-common trap.

In this 1-minute video, I break down the core mistake I see time and time again in email marketing, and what to do instead if you want better engagement and conversions.

Transcript: Fix This Common Email Marketing Mistake

A common reason your email marketing is falling flat!

I jumped on a call with someone last week and they were pulling their hair out over their email marketing. Their open rates were really good, but no one was clicking.

When I dug into it, it was immediately clear what the problem was: one email packed full of way too many messages. We're talking multiple product updates, company brand news, and event invitations all in one communication. It was clear that people were opening the email but then becoming overwhelmed and abandoning it.

What this really told me was that no one was acting as the guardian for the email channel. There was no strategy, no plan - just different departments all throwing their own message into one email. When there's no ownership, every email becomes a kitchen sink.

The fix is very simple. One clear message per email, one clear next step, and consistency over who owns the email channel. Because at the end of the day, your subscribers came for value, not chaos. So give them what they came for.
